A carer is somebody who regulary looks after anybody who would not be able to manage without help, they may be part of the family or somebody outside.

It is important to recognise the physically and emotionally demanding role of a carer.

It is important for a carer to have an assessment of their own needs as this role has a large impact on many aspects of day to day living.

Adult Health and Wellbeing commissions other local organisations to provide support and services for carers. They provide practical support for carers through direct services such as care home, day services and financial help, as well as advice and information on caring for someone.
