Diabetes is a chronic disease associated with high blood glucose levels due to an inability to secrete insulin and/or an insensitivity to it.

There are two types of diabetes, Type 1 and Type 2.

Type 1 usually has an onset in children or younger people and Type 2 usually affects adults and older people. Obesity and increasing age are associated with the onset of Type 2 diabetes.
